Description

This postcard illustrates the old Albertson Public Library, a gorgeous limestone building embellished with four grandiose Doric columns. Albertson Public Library was founded by Charles L. Albertson and opened its doors in the year 1923. The original structure was demolished in 1964 to make way for a new structure to be constructed, which would become the new home for the Orlando Public Library, which would start serving library-goers in 1966. The postcard pictured was printed by Genuine Curteich-Chicago, a company renowned for advertising city features in the 20th century.
